BC Vacation – Manning Park to Kelowna Vineyards

On Thanksgiving 2012 my wife Fatima Beatty and I took a last minute British Columbia road trip leaving Surrey BC and traveling along the Crowsnest Pass (Highway 3) where we reached E.C. Manning Provincial Park and stayed at the resort lodge overnight.

To Kelowna and Alto Vista B&B

The next day we explored Lightening Lake where we met some hikers heading up to Mount Frosty. Along the very scenic Highway 3 we couldn’t resist little stops at historic places like the little mining town of Hedley, and then we headed toward wine country in Kelowna where we stayed at the gorgeous Alto Vista Bed & Breakfast overlooking Lake Okanagan.

In Kelowna we dined at Quail’s Gate Okanagan Valley Estate Wineries (so good!) and also visited the breathtaking Mission Hill Family Estate Winery & Vineyards.

We highly recommend Alto Vista Bed & Breakfast and their incredibly yummy breakfasts with great coffee which we enjoyed amongst some other guests who we got to know quite well. One couple flew in from Germany and the others came from Vancouver like us. The couple who runs this B&B were very nice and the wife even gave us some prints of the beautiful paintings she’d made. 🙂 I can’t express how luxurious the house was, with a bar downstairs and quite possibly the best views and patios in Kelowna!

Thank you for the “promoted tweet.” I’ll be at Manning Park about September 1st, 2015 after finishing the Pacific Crest Trail in 12 years of hiking.
Our family will meet me and we’re excited about staying in BC for several days.
    See you on the trail.
