Nintendo Is Not Going Anywhere!!!!

No this is not just a shout of desperation from a Nintendo fan boy, but more of a realistic look at the fact that despite the Wii U not setting the world on fire the same way that the Nintendo Wii did. And despite the fact that it does seem like Nintendo seems to have department whose purpose is to do and say things that just anger their fan base. I honestly hand on heart think that the future of the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo in general is fine.

First of all the Wii U is not going to sell anything like the Wii did. Nintendo were just flat out crazy to think that it ever would. Even if they had marketed the console better, catching lightening in a bottle twice is very hard to do. Those casual gamers who bought the Wii in droves have moved onto other things Nintendo made a mistake by trying to still cater for those people.

Realistically we can expect the Wii U to sell something similar to what the Game Cube sold or if they are lucky then they may get close to what the Nintendo 64 did, but that really is quite wishful thinking. There has been talk that Nintendo need to release their games on the iPad or that they need to go the way of Sega and make only software for other companies. I think both those ideas are just terrible. Porting Super Mario Bros 3 to the iOS store is not going to turn things around for Nintendo. And Nintendo are just unlike any other game or console manufacturer that the landscape of gaming would be a very sad place without a new Nintendo console to look forward to.

Thanks to the amazing success of the Wii and the continuing high sales of their 3DS, Nintendo can ride out what is going on with the Wii U. But the main reason that I as a gamer of let’s just say advanced age who has been lucky to be there for all of Nintendo’s consoles thinks that Nintendo will be ok is for one reason……… GAMES.

Look at 2013 Nintendo it seemed were doing all they could to sour people’s perceptions of the company. From not wanting their games used in gaming tournaments to striking down people on YouTube for using their games. It seemed like public opinion on them was really starting to go down the toilet…………. but then they release a game like Super Mario 3D World. A game that shows why after all these years and even now on a console that is vastly under powered in comparison to what their competition is doing, we still love Nintendo.

Super Mario 3D World is what is great about Nintendo in a nutshell. It’s a game that only Nintendo can do. Trying to pinpoint the charm that many Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and many many more exclusive games have is near on impossible. But the fact is if you want to play as all of their iconic characters then the only way you can do this is by buying a Nintendo console.

In 2014 to name a few we have Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors. These three games especially Mario Kart will sell a few Wii U’s. These are the reason that gaming needs Nintendo because no one else can make games like they can! There are other great games lined up for the Wii U that will be exclusive to the console as well. While they lack the 3rd part support that the Xbox One and Playstation 4 have the Wii U by the end of 2014 will have a really strong line up of exclusive games.

While Nintendo are not to everyone’s taste these days and truth be told due to their actions as of late I can understand why. But to wish that they fail and go away is just crazy to me. But thanks to their amazing ability to just own the hand held gaming market. And the huge cash reserves that they have. Its more than fair to say that Nintendo are not going anywhere for a very long time.
