Looking for some Hawai’i travel/adventure advice for the islands of Oahu and Kauai!

Next month Fatima and I are heading to Hawai’i for the first time! We’ve got 10 days and will spend half the time in Oahu and half in Kauai. We’re up for just about anything. We want to do some exploring out in the rural areas as well as beaches / resorts.

We’re open to staying at some Bed & Breakfasts and unconventional places, in other words ADVENTURE! So if you have any stories or suggestions on awesome things, people or places to visit please let me know by commenting below!

I went skydiving in Honolulu and swam with the turtles on a black sand beach. Both great photo opportunities! Also, check out the helicopter tours over the active volcanoes.

We have been visiting Hawaii every year since 2006 πŸ™‚ all the islands are Beautiful and unique in their own ways! I visited Kauai in 2008 and fell in love with the landscaping and peace of that island. Very laid back and everything seems to close really early. We stayed on the south side of the island called Poipu. This is the side that is known for the sunnier weather compared to Princeville. We enjoyed a helicopter ride over the Napoli Coast, Snorkel adventure, morning walks from our condo to Poipu Beach to see the turtles and seals πŸ™‚ the best day I had there was at the Polihale State Park!! it is a 5 mile dirt road in and when you get to the end…true paradise! My fiance and I were the only ones there that day! The surf is wild so i never swam, just admired the scenery! A true must in my opinion! We have visited Oahu a few times and were just there in December of last year. We stayed in Waikiki just because it was closer to a friend of mine that lives there. Typical city but have to experience it just the same! Visit Pearl Harbor, do a Luau, drive to the North shore, snorkel at Hanauma Bay with the turtles and yes i recommend sky diving as well there πŸ™‚ so many things to do and experience but always make time for a cocktail at sunset! Oh, and when you land Make sure you buy your Girl a lei ….it starts off your vacation perfectly πŸ™‚ this will be a vacation to remember so i recommend not trying to fill your day with too many things! have a great time and when Hawaii calls you guys back (which it will) hope you visit my favourite island of Maui! We have had great experiences booking places with VRBO.com Mahalo!!
